Thomas E. DeWolf

Thomas (Tom) Edward DeWolf, age 64, passed away peacefully on August 28, 2026, at Aurora Hospital in Two Rivers after a long battle with cancer. He was born December 14, 1961, at Theda Clark Hospital in Neenah to the late James and Rosalie (Olson) DeWolf.

Tom spent his first 11 years in Neenah, where he attended St. Patrick’s grade school in Menasha. After the family moved to Manitowoc, he attended Manitowoc Public Schools and was a 1980 graduate of Lincoln High School. He attended Lakeshore Technical College where he earned his associate degree in small engine repair. He enjoyed tinkering and helping others. He worked in the hardware business for forty years, beginning at Coast to Coast Hardware at age 16, then Hardware Hank, and finally ACE Hardware until his health no longer allowed it. Tom was happiest in the outdoors: hiking, camping and creating memories with his brothers and his dogs. His favorite places were state and national forests, especially Luna White Deer of which he had many stories. He was a dog lover and enjoyed having a loyal furry companion by his side.

Tom is survived by his siblings: Ellen (Charles) Boldt, Manitowoc; Patrick (Diana) DeWolf, Eau Claire; Michael DeWolf, Neenah; and Peter (Pamela) DeWolf, Menasha. He is further survived by aunts Joyce Lund, Appleton; and Barb Lauger, Wyoming; an uncle James (Frances) Olson, Illinois; his godmother Nancy Hillmer, Manitowoc; 10 nieces and nephews; 17 great nieces and nephews; and 19 cousins. Tom was preceded in death by his parents James and Rosalie; a special brother, John; four uncles and one aunt: Neil (Nancy) DeWolf, Robert (Bob) Lund, Michael Lauger, and Donald Olson who was his godfather.

Respecting Tom’s wishes, cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. A private family memorial service was held at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel led by Deacon Mark LeGreve. In memory of Tom, his family urges family and friends to get into nature: explore, go hiking or camping, or simply enjoy a campfire and the starry night sky. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lakeshore Humane Society or any of the state or national parks, or simply plant a tree.
