Thomas "Tom"
P. Mohr
November 15, 1935 – March 15, 2025
Thomas "Tom" P. Mohr, age 89, a Manitowoc resident, passed away Saturday, March 15, 2025 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers. His last words to his family were "Be kind to others, take care of each other and live a good life".
He was born on November 15, 1935, the 5th son of Ava H. Mohr and Lillian Barneson Mohr, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1954. Tom joined the military and served in the Army Security Agency for two years. He attended the university of Wisconsin Stevens Point for two years and then transferred to Madison. He received his BBA degree in Finance in 1960 and was proud to join all four brothers as graduates of the University of Wisconsin – Madison. On September 6, 1958 he married the love of his life, Darlene Olson, at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Waupaca, Wisconsin. They were blessed with 66 anniversaries.
Tom was employed with several companies in various positions and locations. Some positions included Bank Examiner with the FDIC, Cost Manager with the U.S. Plywood Division of Champion International, and Accountant with Great A&P Tea Company. His favorite was as CFO for ten years with the MacGillis and Gibbs Co., a Milwaukee based utility pole and wood producer and manufacturer with multiple operations in the U.S. and Canada. Prior to retirement he was employed locally with Santa's Best Co.
He retired in 1999 and enjoyed a life of leisure with travel, volunteering, and some part time employment. He and Darlene frequently traveled south during the winter to visit family and friends. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors on many trips to Canada, at his brother's northern Wisconsin condo, and opening trout season. Tom enjoyed sports and was a Packer fan from the day of the radio, to attending the games to TV. To stay active, he volunteered as an escort at Holy Family Hospital, drove Veterans to VA clinics, driving school bus and delivering auto parts. Idle time was used putzing around the house and yard using less than a handyman's skills that occasionally required medical attention. He was a dedicated, caring family man who enjoyed daily family life and the many group and individual events, travels and activities. His favorite vacation was an entire family cruise to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. All were loved, special and made him feel blessed and proud.
Tom is survived by his wife Darlene Mohr, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law: David (Kim) Mohr, Cable; two daughters and sons-in-law: Bette (Tom) Rosinsky, Manitowoc, and Lynda (Steve) Keller, Sheboygan Falls; five grandsons: David (Katie) Mohr, Marc Mohr, Antioch, IL, Matt (Adrienne) Rosinsky, Manitowoc, Sam (Brittany) Rosinsky, West Bend, and Max Paider (Friend Alyson Bennin), Sheboygan Falls; four great-grandsons: Kaiden, Lennon, Armin, and Atticus; four great-granddaughters: Kinley, Leighton, Lillian, and Jana; sister-in-law: Denise Montgomery; and brother-in-law: Dave Smith.
