Thomas J. Tomchek, age 78, of 1525 South 26th Street, Manitowoc, entered eternal life late Thursday evening, April 27, 2011 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center, Manitowoc, where he resided since November 2010.

Tom was born September 25, 1932 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Martin and Priscilla Zawsky Tomchek. Tom was a graduate of Lincoln High School graduating with the class of 1950. He entered the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma until his honorable discharge. Tom returned to Manitowoc and became employed at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center as the director of housekeeping and laundry for 22 years. On August 22, 1959 he married Audrey Hronek at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Audrey; one son: Jeffrey Tomchek, Highland Park, IL; one daughter: Jennifer Pasquil, FL; two grandchildren; one brother: David Tomchek, Barrington, IL; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Martin and Priscilla Tomchek; one sister: Mary Hronek.

There will be no visitation or funeral services.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with arrangements.
