Obituary

Tip Saengphaphat, age 64, a resident of Pewaukee, passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 in Manitowoc.

Tip was born on November 1, 1950 in Laos. She escaped the Communist regime in Laos and made her way to refugee camps in Thailand. In 1968, Tip married Pheng Saengphaphat in Laos. He preceded her in death on October 5, 2011. In 1980, Tip brought her husband and four children to Long Island, NY. While raising her four children, she also provided for her family by working at Clean Room Products Inc. where she was a role model employee. In November of 1991, Tip and her family moved to Manitowoc, WI. Health issues forced Tip into an early retirement with all of her focus directed towards raising her children. She fought through various health issues for nearly 20 years in order to be with, assist, and watch her family grow. Tip enjoyed spending her time cooking, contributing with her husband to unifying the Laotian community in northeastern Wisconsin, and more than anything, spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include Tip's five children: Pathnaree, Sam, Kit, Dawn, and Koson; eight grandchildren: Christina, Santally, Chelsea, Angelique, Zach, Nikko, Zander, and Soleia; two brothers; also other relatives and friends. Tip was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Pheng; and one brother.

A private service will be held on Sunday, August 2, 2015 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory. Following the service, a traditional Buddhist ceremony will be held at her son Kit's residence. Cremation will then follow at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Her ashes will be kept at the local Buddhist temple in Manitowoc County for 100 days and will then have her ashes and her husband's ashes spread in New York to signify their passing together into the next life.

The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with arrangements.
