Vila A. Belongia, age 106, passed away on January 30, 2025, at Shady Lane Nursing Home in Manitowoc.

Vila was born on May 8, 1918, in Morrison, WI, to the late Albert and Elizabeth (Voeltz) Laabs. On November 27, 1938, she married Ervin J. Belongia at St. John Lutheran Church in DePere. She was employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding, Hamilton Industries, and later Mirro Aluminum, retiring in 1975. Vi was a longtime member of First German Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially at the family cabin in Florence County.

Vi is survived by her son Roger (Donna) Belongia of Denmark, WI; grandchildren Renee (James) Hussman, Kirk Belongia, Denise (Steven) Popke, and Nathan (Brenda) Belongia; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Vi was preceded in death by her husband Ervin 2003.

Visitation will be held at First German Luther Church, 1025 S. 8th St., Manitowoc, on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. until time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Jacob Hoff officiating. A luncheon at the church will follow. Entombment will be private at Knollwood Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to First German Lutheran Church.
