Viola L. Lensmeyer, age 94, a resident of St. Anthony, Minnesota, entered eternal life late Friday evening at St. Anthony Health Center, St. Anthony, Minnesota.
Viola was born April 4, 1920 in the town of Franklin, Manitowoc County. She was the daughter of the late John and Julia Sauer Remiker. On June 14, 1941 she married Herbert L. Lensmeyer at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Kellnersville, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on April 9, 1995. Viola was a member of the former Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc where she was also active with various church groups prior to moving to Iowa and then Minnesota.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Patricia and Gary Shun, Minneapolis, MN; five grandchildren: Ryan (Wendy) Lensmeyer, Brandon (Jenica) Lensmeyer, Jenna Lensmeyer, Garett Shun and Lauren Shun; two great granddaughters: Aubrey and Jaylen; daughter-in-law: Debbie Lensmeyer, LeClaire, Iowa; sister-in-law: Geraldine Touhey, Manitowoc, WI; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents: John and Julia Remiker; husband: Herbert Lensmeyer; son: Paul Lensmeyer; sister: Emily Sobieski.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Dave Pleier with entombment to follow at the Shrine of the Good Shephard Mausoleum at Nicolet Memorial Park, Green Bay, WI. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services at 10:30 a.m. Following the funeral services there will be a luncheon held for relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.
