Violet C. Hynek, age 94, a resident of the Hamilton Care Center, Two Rivers, Wisconsin, met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ late Sunday evening, May 19, 2013 at Hamilton Care Center.
Violet was born on October 17, 1918 in Manitowoc, WI. She was the daughter of the late Walter and Catherine Pinger Trost. On February 18, 1939 she married Eugene Hynek at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Manitowoc and made their home in Manitowoc Rapids. He preceded her in death on December 31, 2003. Violet called the Hamilton Care Center her home for the past 6 years. The nurses and staff became part of her beloved family. She truly loved her life at the center, especially her time playing bingo and other activities.
She is survived by her beloved son Chuck and his wife Joanne; her very special daughter-in-law: Claire Hynek; her grandchildren: Aaron Hynek and his wife Heather and their daughter Violets namesake, Violet Grace. Alyson Arruda, her children Kaylyn and Gavin, her fiancé Scott Mitchel and his son Matthew. Rachael and Sam Higginbotham and their children, Samuel Jr, Chrissy, Elijah, Levi and Charlie. Gina and Greg Haefle and their children Megan and Noah. Becky and Jim Schuh and their sons, Ryan and Tanner. Jill and Mike Srnec and their children Jenna and Mitch. Amy and John Volkman and their daughter Chloe Jane. Jeny and Chris Ehlbeck and their children Paetyn, Easton and Lily Brooke. Violet dearly loved her sons and their wives as well as her grandchildren and was always so happy to see them and spend time with them. She is also survived by her sisters: Doris Meissner and her daughter Cindy; Sister Jeanette Trost; brother and sister-in-law: Bobby and Dorothy Trost; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Her husband Eugene and her son Gary went ahead of her to help prepare her place in heaven. She also was preceded in death by her brothers Leonard, Donald, Richard and Clarence as well as sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Russ Meissner. A special thanks to her special friend and constant companion Elmer Krizizke. Elmer loved Violet and watched over her at the home for the past few years. Elmer passed away in December 2012 and was sorely missed by Violet. The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the nurses and staff of the Hamilton Care Center for their tenderness and loving kindness shown towards Violet during her last days of life. They treated her with the utmost care and dignity.
Memorial services will be held 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2013 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. John Aitken with entombment of the cremains to take place at Knollwood Mausoleum at a later date. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30. Following the funeral services there will be a luncheon for family and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home.
