Wayne R. Bartels, age 60, a resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal life late Sunday evening, December 16, 2018 at The Bay at North Ridge Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Manitowoc.

Wayne was born on January 6, 1958 in Manitowoc. He was the son of the late Donald and Generose Ebert Bartels Sr.  Wayne was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the class of 1976.  He had been employed with Manitowoc Shipbuilding.  Wayne was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.  He was an avid Green Bay Packer football fan.

He is survived by two brothers: Donald (Brenda) Bartels and Conrad (Sue) Bartels both of Manitowoc; two sisters:  Donna (Dennis) Williams, Manitowoc; Dora Peronto, Two Rivers; nieces, nephews along with other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents:  Donald and Generose Bartels Sr.; one sister:  Constance Bartels; one brother-in-law:  Gary Peronto.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Marshall, 1114 South 21 ^st Street, Manitowoc.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Doug LeCaptain with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Manitowoc.  Relatives and friends may call at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on Marshall on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.  Following the funeral service there will be a luncheon held at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center, 620 North Water Street, Manitowoc, located on the south property of the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.
