William R. Stegmann, age 81, a Manitowoc resident, entered into eternal life on Monday, June 28, 2011 at his residence.

Bill was born on October 6, 1929 in Sheboygan to the late William and Florine (Granzow) Stegmann. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1947. On July 11, 1952, Bill married Dolores Konkle in Milwaukee. Dolores preceded Bill in death on June 23, 1999. He enlisted with the United States Army and served during the Korean War. Following his service, Bill worked at Aluminum Specialty in Manitowoc for 40 years until his retirement in 1991. Bill then worked part time as a courier at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center. He enjoyed spending his time fishing, hunting, playing cards, and going to his cottage up north. Bill was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Manitowoc.

Survivors include seven children: Kathy (Pat) Higgins and Connie (William) Nolte, both of Milwaukee; Barbara (Eric John) Seny, San Antonio, TX; Michael (Judy) Stegmann, William J. (Paula) Stegmann, Ronald (Shari) Stegmann, and Sandra (Tod) Konsela, all of Manitowoc; 10 grandchildren: Hope, Todd, Joshua, Zachary, Angela, Jamie, Becky, Eric, Amy, and Josiah; Twelve great grandchildren; a special friend in his dog Max; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Dolores; daughter: Sarah; one brother: Robert; and one sister: Gloria.

The family will greet relatives and friends on Thursday, June 30, 2011 at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, N. 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc from 5 pm until 7 pm. The visitation will continue on Friday at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home from 10 am until the time of the funeral service at 11 am. Glen Rezachek will officiate with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum.
