Obituary

Yolanda Faye Schroeder, a lifelong resident of Manitowoc County, passed away peacefully to her heavenly home after a long, courageous battle with cancer on August 20, 2024, at age 59. Yolanda was born on October 25, 1964, the first-born daughter of Howard and Jacqueline (Schuette) Schroeder of Manitowoc. Yolanda graduated from Lincoln High in 1983, and from Lakeshore Technical College with an Associate Degree in Administrative-Marketing. Yolanda worked various office positions and lastly at Holiday Inn-Manitowoc for 15 years in Administrative and Marketing.

Yolanda enjoyed raising her two beautiful daughters, Crystal and Corrissa, and having the opportunity to spend lots of time with them through their growing-up years. She felt that her daughters were a blessing and the most precious gifts from God. She carried on her love and care for her two handsome grandsons, Landon and Levi, whom she loved dearly. Spending time with them was so important. Landon and Levi had their own room at Gammy's known as the "toy room" with much fun to be had when visiting or staying overnight. Landon called her Hammy, then Gammy, with Levi picking Gigi; and then all-in-all, she came to be known to them as Gammy.

Yolanda looked forward to retiring early to spend more time with family, do some traveling, and hopefully move someday to a warmer state. Due to her cancer, she retired earlier at the age of 56 and spent time enjoying her family and gardening. Yolanda enjoyed preparing/eating healthy food, reading about health and sharing info, gardening in her many flowerbeds, sunning in her warm back yard, redecorating/organizing, dancing/working out, listening to music, and playing various board games with family and friends.

Survivors include her two daughters and one son-In-Law: Crystal Parker and fiancé Tommy Weeks and Corrissa (Andrew) Frank; two grandchildren, Landon and Levi Frank; sisters, Laura Schroeder and Jayne Gorski; nieces; nephew; aunts; and uncles.

Yolanda was preceded in death by her brother, Kenneth Schroeder; her father, Howard Schroeder; and her mother, Jacqueline Schroeder.

The family wishes to thank all involved in the care of their mother and Gammy.

Cremation has occurred at Harrigan Parkside Crematory Chapel. A Celebration of Yolanda's Life will be held at the Inn at Maritime Bay, 101 Maritime Drive, Manitowoc, on September 8, 2024. Relatives and friends may greet the family from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m.
