Obituary

Audie M. Potter, age 67, a resident of Manitowoc, and formerly of Pickford, MI, entered eternal life on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at his residence.

Audie was born on September 13, 1956 in Sault Ste. Marie, MI to the late Marvin and Kathleen (Batho) Potter.  He graduated from Pickford High School with the class of 1974.  He had worked at Quinnell Funeral Home for 10 years, Hovie Funeral Home for 7 years, UPS for 17 years, Chippewa County Sheriff's Office, Delta Force Security, DK Security at Soo Locks, and at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home.  He volunteered for the Pickford Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years and the Pickford Ambulance service for 25 years.  Audie had served for the Chippewa County Sheriff's Posse.  He enjoyed spending his time hunting, target and clay shooting (with mixed results), visiting the local bakeries, horse riding, racing snowmobiles, was a Michigan and Michigan State fan (depending which son he was around), and cheered for the Detroit Lions.  Audie always enjoyed talking and visiting with anyone – he was never a stranger.  He was a kind, jovial, and giving person that above all, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  Audie was a member of the Westshore Sportsman Club and the Michigan International Racing Association.

Survivors include the love of Audie's life, Sherry, Manitowoc; three children, Ashley (Tim) Carty, Manitowoc, WI; Nick (Kelsey) Potter, Manitowoc; and Jordan (Amanda) Potter, North Richland Hills, TX; 13 grandchildren, Trinity, Tayvia, Breckyn, Hunter, Dylan, Jameson, Camden, Kellen, Eva, Natilie, Wyatt, Jake and Bailey; great grandson, Lathan; step-father, Richard Newland, Detour, MI; also other relatives and many friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin Potter and Kathleen Newland.
